So I just bought my first truck, a 2004 F150 Lariat Supercrew. I want to beef up the sound, but I know close to nothing about subs/amps/wiring. I don't need a $2000 system with the best of everything, just something decent. I don't want to be rattling everyone else's cars while sitting at a stop light 24/7, however, I would like the ability to do a decent job every once in a while. So I know the 2004-2008 Supercrews aren't the best for putting subs in. I have pretty much narrowed down the box I am going to get to a Fox box. The sound seems to be good from reviews and it is much deeper than most others(6 1/8 in.). So now I need you guys to help me make a smart decision on what subs to buy. I will be putting in 2 10 in. subs. The two I am primarily looking at are Kicker CVR's and Alpine Type R's. Are these decent subs? Which is better? 2 ohm or 4 ohm? Others in the same category that are better? Also, which amp should I get and how should I wire it? Where should I get the wiring ect. from? I am also planning on getting the Pioneer 4300DVD. I went to a local shop and he quoted me $470 for a box, 2 Kicker Comp 10s (he said that's all that would probably fit in their box), amp and installation. I think I could get a better system if I purchased all the stuff online and installed it myself (I am very mechanically inclined). Thanks in advance, I know you guys probably get these all the time!!!
