I realize that not all bluetooth functions will happen based on the kind of phone that I have. It's the Motorola ic902 for Sprint/Nextel. I guess the biggest issue is whether or not the bluetooth connects automatically. I have heard that the Alpine does but the Pioneer does NOT. That would be a huge pain in the arse....to pair it up every single time you get in the car, which I get in and out of my car about 6 times a day. I know that I can't have an absoute flawless product, but I just don't want to drop that kind of money and wished I would have bought the other deck. I am leaning towards the Alpine based on the fact that it ROCKS with the iPod. But, if I hear good things about Pioneer's iPod response, I might go that way due to their bluetooth being a bit better. Any opinions would GREATLY help me out!!!!

[QUOTE="DreamNofR1, post: 3431203, member: 581493"] Allright guys, I have been racking my brain for the past week and I just can't decide. I currently have a JVC Arsenal head unit and I want to get rid of it. I am trying to decide between the Alpine 9887 and the Pioneer 980BT. Here's what I want to do: I want fast iPod control and also bluetooth functionality. I know in terms of iPod that Alpine is the way to go. However, I have a big problem with buying a head unit for $500 bucks if the bluetooth is going to ****. I have read a few reviews that the Alpine bluetooth is horrible. It has a lot of feedback and a lot of echoing. Do you guys find that to actually be the case? Now, I've heard great things about the bluetooth with Pioneer head units but, the iPod functions are not as good. I used to have a Pioneer head unit a few years ago and the iPod was SLOW. It really pissed me off. Now, I now that they won't be as fast as Alpine, but is it still really slow or did they improve a lot? I like the fact that the bluetooth is built in to the Pioneer head units so thats a plus. I realize that not all bluetooth functions will happen based on the kind of phone that I have. It's the Motorola ic902 for Sprint/Nextel. I guess the biggest issue is whether or not the bluetooth connects automatically. I have heard that the Alpine does but the Pioneer does NOT.
