Today I had a V51BT head unit installed in my 2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV. My truck already has two factory installed overhead monitors, the first being powered by it's bulit in Panasonic DVD player. On the finished installation, if I play a DVD with the V51BT the video will display on all 3 monitors (front, and 2 overhead) and the audio runs through all speakers. If I play a DVD with the overhead Panasonic the video will display on only on the two rear monitors, and audio can only be heard over the IR headphones. The question/problem I have is my installer could not figure out how to get video from my android smartphone to display on all 3 monitors when I have my phone mirrored to the V51BT through HDMI. The video from my phone will only display on the V51BT. Is there a way to get the video to display on all 3 monitors like it does when playing a DVD? For example if I want to watch a youtube video from my phone through the monitors. When I was checking around for the best price on installation, I was told by one installer that he got it to work by soldering wires directly to the auxiliary inputs on the overhead DVD player. Does anybody know it this works? If so can you please give me specific instructions so that I can return to my installer and have him do it for me? PS- My knowledge in the area is very limited so if you can help please be specific as to which wires to run and where to connect. Thank you for your help!
