Hello, thanks for allowing a noob onto the board here. I searched this but am having trouble getting to the answer. 2010 Chevy express passenger. I have a factory 6 speaker system. I had a shop install a cheap head unit for the monitor and a rear back up camera.

My 4 rear speakers (2 in the headliner and 2 in the rear doors are barely audible. The fronts are loud and play ok, but the rears are hardly even heard. Turn on full fade and it doesn't really change.

What am I missing? Did chevy use some amp or relay in the speaker system we are not seeing? When the seat belt alarm goes off or an alarm the radio volume lowers so the warning can be heard and then the radio goes back to the setting it is on volume wise.

Is there a wiring diagram available normal people can look at?? I am sure its a simple fix but going back to the shop that did the work is not an option, I have fixed numerous bad wire connections and chased other install issues the van is not going back to them. What should I look for??? Thanks red423

Deck power in general doesn't deliver much...maybe 15x4rms even though there may be a hyped 50x4 or so printed on the box or face.......and that is into 4 ohms...Car speakers in general are 4 ohms each....so if its wired to 6 speakers...the fronts are probably at 4 ohms ...which are getting a full 15x2 ...the rear 4 are probably stepped up to 8 ohms ( if wired at 2ohms youd fry the tiny radio amp chip ) which is a 50% reduction in power of only about 8x2 then thats divided 4 times so the rears would only see about 4 watts each...Id recommend a small 4 ch amp for the rear about 25x4 rms ...or less since factory speakers so you can get full power to them and all should be fine....
