Hey hows it going everyone, Well been driving around for a while with my system in for temp stay. -320A Mechman @ 16.5v charging (big 3 all 0 gauge) -one Xs power d1400 (as of now) should also add my one battery failed a load test, so this one will need replacing soon enough -one run of 0 gauge for power -one run of 0 gauge for ground to amplifier (grounding to chassis for temp, would not allow amplifier out of protect mode) -Kenwood Kvt-514 -Memphis Mojo 4000 -two 18" jugs @ 1 ohm signal on amp is around 1/3-1/2 up (I would try to lower it but my rear hatch lever has manager to break some internal linkage from the vibrations so I would like some ideas first) and at the headunit it is at -8 for the bass. bass boost is 1/2 way up but i rarely touch the gain knob (but it will play at idle up high) The Kvt is currently connected to two stock speakers (possibility of a short maybe?) but every other unused wire has been capped off While at idle the subs can play at full volume and they sound great! but as soon as I increase the engine rpm the head unit will cut off. I contacted Kenwood and they insured me the headunit can handle these voltages, and Kenwood asked about my signal levels. Before this problem persisted the headunit would continuously cut off at anything above idle IF the ipod (that is connected through a manufacturer supplied cable) would only allow for the ipod to play at maybe 1/2 the headunit volume capable and then would shut off at anything above that. As where with a CD, the headunit could handle higher volume levels. Somehow the Ipod problem corrected itself, I should also add right before the headunit decides to turn off, everytime my "ABS" light comes on. And this has happened previously ONLY when a battery cable becomes disconnected. Or when the vehicle is forced to accept more amperage than it is capable of handling. (So that would be very similar case with this problem it seems like?) so my question is How would it be possible to use the full potential of my alternator? It seems as if anything above idle amperage, the headunit will not accept? Whether it be more batteries, lower my signals or any suggestions at all Any input would be greatly appreciated! thanks
