I have a dual battery setup with my head unit running off the main battery and the 4 channel and sub amp on the optima with an isolator. Since I am using an external amp to power the speakers how much current does the head unit draw off the main battery? I like to listen to music loud in parking lots and stuff with my car off and subs off, but I am worried that my head unit will draw too much from the front battery. Is it really necessary to run the power wire from the head unit to the rear battery?? The head unit is pioner AVH-p6500dvd. I am guessing that the current draw will be signifigantly less the the TV closed.
