[QUOTE="Bob Saget, post: 7126637, member: 624160"] ...free 1/0 weld wire the person who successfully finds a way to connect an iPod to my Alpine CDA-7837 via the Ai-Net port. It's a '98 model, & is Ai-Net... not M-bus. I used my friends Alpine KCA-420i (compatible w/ '04-up Alpine Ai-Net receivers) & it charged my iPod, as well as played it through the h/u (controlling w/ the iPod)....however, I only got sound out of the right side. Doesn't have to charge the iPod, just play it w/ my CDA-7837 (I prefer using the iPod vs controlling w/ the h/u...so that's fine) Alpine, Crutchfield, & all the local car stereo shops say the only way is via an fm transmitter, I agree to disagree. I know I can easily get a different h/u, but I really want to keep this h/u because....... It's near mint, has a simple-clean display, great cd SQ, & I'm doing an old school build in my Jeep. I already have an old school Alpine 1/2 din EQ & a PPI Art 3-way x-over....so the simplicity of this h/u is exactly what I need, all that's missing is the iPod. If someone has a way to get ahold of a pin-out on this h/u guts, or the Ai-net cable, I wouldn't mind soldering wires together & hardwiring it to an iPod cable, just as long as it plays clear through the h/u. end rant/ ready.set.go.
