Around here most people use the 243 for coyotes, bob cats, and a general vermin gun in the back glass of their feed truck. It and 22-250's are what a lot of kids start out with because the kick is pretty tame. The same way that 12gauge is more efficient but alot of kids start out with a 20 gauge or 410. 270's are a good round there are some many rounds that work I can't name them all. Somebody mentioned the hand loads. If somebody is asking about a gun to shoot deer withon a car audio forum, I am guessing that they aren't hand loading. I don't have an AR10 but I do have a PTR91. It's a 308 battle rifle. Not the most accurate with a 1.5ish MOA but is fun to shoot. My brother picked up a Rugar M77 scout. Its is nice little gun. only chambered in a 308. I think it's a 16in barrel bolt action with a stripper magizine. It is a great pickup gun. You could get out the window with the quickness .
