I had the Navone LOC running my front stage for a while. It works well and the built-in remote sense is a bonus. For $25 it's hard to beat. Turn-on thump or pop happens when the source (like a line driver or LOC) puts a pulse out to the amp when the device turns off. I had a PAC preamp that did that real bad. And coincidentally, Audiocontrol gear is famous for it. My EQL makes a pop in the main speakers when the remote shuts off. Very annoying. I can accept that from a $20 preamp, but not from supposedly "high end" audio gear.
