Besides, if (and that's a big if)</p><p></p><p>the</p><p></p><p>alt was charging at that rate for an extended period of time, the worst</p><p></p><p>that</p><p></p><p>could happen is would be the wiring meltdown as I described; fuses</p><p></p><p>would</p><p></p><p>blow in the system protecting all the vital components of the vehicle</p><p></p><p>before</p><p></p><p>that much amperage could harm them, so they're protected (see, fuses</p><p></p><p>ARE</p><p></p><p>good! Lol)</p><p></p><p>No matter what, you are definitely going to have to upgrade your</p><p></p><p>wiring. You</p><p></p><p>have to remember that any wiring circuit is only as strong as its</p><p></p><p>weakest</p><p></p><p>link and to complete the circuit the current has to pass through both</p><p></p><p>the</p><p></p><p>positive and the negative wires; so when you upgrade your wiring,</p><p></p><p>upgrade</p><p></p><p>both positive and negative. And, don't forget to beef up the wiring</p><p></p><p>connections between your starter wire and body ground, as they are part</p><p></p><p>of</p><p></p><p>that circuit (believe it or not); any major cabling off the factory</p><p></p><p>battery</p><p></p><p>to any point on the vehicle should be upgraded as well. That'll ensure</p><p></p><p>you</p><p></p><p>don't have any weak links in your system.</p><p></p><p>Remember that wiring is like a water pipe; the smaller the pipe, the</p><p></p><p>less</p><p></p><p>water flow, the bigger the pipe, the more water flow. The same applies</p><p></p><p>to</p><p></p><p>the current passing through the wire, the larger the wire, the more</p><p></p><p>current</p><p></p><p>flow. Increasing the wire size throughout the vehicle will increase</p><p></p><p>current</p><p></p><p>flow to all sections of the vehicle's electrical system, not only</p><p></p><p>giving you</p><p></p><p>better current flow to the system but to all vital components of the</p><p></p><p>car</p><p></p><p>too.
