I was going to, but you're right. So whats there to prove wrong? Thats actually a great way to look at it, because in reality, thats exactly how people think. The thing is, you know its irresponsible to think that way. You stated it yourself, so you know you shouldnt think that way. However using that, it can help reach people in a different way. Ill expand on that a bit. A negative effect, is the gas prices, the smog, and the bad health that comes along with it. Also if we ease up off of oil, the US will most likely ease up on its control over the middle east (and most oil producing countries) because thats just how supply and demand works. So if there is a large supply of gas, yet less demand. Wtf do we need it for? Thats a plus in 2 ways. One, we'll no longer will need to worry about terrorist BS because we'll no longer be there pissing them off. We'll also have a main energy source that can be created anywhere in the world, so the US wont be needing to waste $ outside of the country just to control the way oil is distributed. Less peope being pissed off, will mean they'll also relax a bit on taking away our rights to "protect" us So its kind of a snowball thing IMO. Im sure if you think about it, you'll be able to find more places this would impact in your daily life. So it'll go beyond just having a different type of car. That being said, I dont believe fuel powered cars should be 100% eliminated, however dialy drivers and such etc.. dont need to be gas powered. That will remove a majority of the unnecessary vehicles on the road. The positives far outweigh the negatives, not just for long term effects on the environment, but for the here and now. IMO, thats what we should care about. So going by the fact that people are selfish, that fits just fine
