I could care less about a meter, just to my ears and a little flex:D I love the sound of the XXX, but I was planning on doing three 8s now, and buying 3 more in the beginning of the year, for a total of 8. In a trunk, because of the dims, I coul get more sound to come back around the box better, rather than having a box for a 15 that blocks most sound from getting back into the cabin. In my experience, trunks USUALLY do better with smaller subs, as opposed to larger ones, and I've had numerous 18s and 15s in this same car. I've had 2 Konaki 1207a's that were just as loud as anything else that was in here. The kist being; Nightshade 18, 05 RE XXX18, TREO CSX 18/hybrid, TREO SSI 15, 3 JL WO 15s, and 2 CVR15s. I just figured that if I did a box that was a little shorter, it would allow more sound to pass back into the cabin, resulting in a louder setup. Cone area for three 8s would be on par with the single 15, so it should be close at least. When I add the other 3, it should be a bit louder still.......... I hope. Then too, I would have more options to expand, as I couldn't get 2 XXX15s in my car, but I have room for about 8-10 8's
