I'm going to admit that I haven't read all of this thread, actually, only the first page. Here is my advice. DO NOT buy - or makes payments for "a few months" - on a car for your girlfriend. You are not even 16 years old, and you will later look back to realize the waste of money it was. I dated a girl for 2 and a half years in high school, and continued for another year in college. Now we're broken up, despite how PERFECT things seemed for the first 2+ years, or all the talk of marriage. I also feel it's important to mention that I have at least 5 friends who had relationships that surpased the year mark in high school...NONE of them are still with their "long-term" mates. Just throwing that out...I know it's depressing to think about, and you want to prove the world wrong, which is great - but chances are you will not end up with this girl in the long run. Things change, and when you're in high school: living at home, being supported by parents, there is absolutely no reason to drop a ton of cash on a girlfriend who is also living at home. Money becomes more scarce and valuable when you're forced to live on it...and any that you can save now will help you in the future. My .02
