My parents said that every dollar I saved, they would match for me to buy my first vehicle. I bought my car the summer of my Freshmen year. My uncle used to do auto-salvage. For those of you who don't know what that is, he basically bought vehicles from an online auction site and fixed then re-sold them to make some extra money. I was coming home from football practice and saw a far drive by that I thought was really cool. It was a Fiero. When I got home, I searched Fiero on the auction site that my uncle got vehicles from. There were two available. One had massive front-end damage from a collision. The other was a donated vehicle. The previous owner donated it to get a tax writeoff. It was $400. At this point, I had about $2,500 saved up. We bought it, and after fees it was $800. My parents only let me get it because they thought it wouldn't run, and I would just spend time working on it and learn a lot about cars. So we got it, and after I got a new battery and plugged a vacuum leak, it started right up! Granted, there were a few non-necessary things we did to it. My dad and I used to work on it together up until my Sophomore year when he started having back pain. It kept getting worse and he went to the doctor for tests to be done. Turns out, it was angiosarcoma, a type of terminal cancer. Treatment didn't work, and he passed away last September. I have lots of memories of working on my car, and will never sell it. It's not just a car to me.

Fuck you guys.

[/QUOTE]
