Germaniums in a tundra...

SO im going to be upgrading my tundra, currently i have 3 8w3's in the back compartment, but they are overpowering the JBL system, so im going to upgrade that as well. After reading this a lot, ive decided to go with the germaniums, but im wondering what should i use for the rear speakers? any ideas?

Is your Tundra painted yellow and black? does it have a advertisement tent on your roof? Do you have a meter on your dash that calculates fare? Then you shouldn't have people in your backseat =P you wanna transport people? get a van.... a Truck is for you and you only. Get the Germs.

I have a set of Germanium CS 265.25's still in the box that I will be installing in a 06 double cab. The wait is killing me, but I have been taking my time deciding on the different components that I am going to use. The double cab is a total sob of an install (especially for subs). I am 99% sure that I will go with a single DLS A7 with the Germs bi-amped (60 watts rms per) and the sub channel to either a single 10 at 2 ohms or dual 8's at 2 ohms. 6spdcoupe has been a big help in the decision making process, as many on this forum will attest to.

The Germs should fit with minimum mods (1/2-3/4 mdf spacer and washers to space over the window track). I will report back when I finally get everything in.

By the way, is your Tundra a double or extended cab? If it is a double cab, how did you mount your 8" subs?

In regards to your question about rear fill, possibly some mid-bass 6-1/2s. If you want full range sound for your rear passengers, I would probably go with the SL 165 coaxial speakers. Lower cost, but at least in the Rainbow family and possibly better timbre matching than using another brand.

yea its a double cab, i used the compartments under the rear seat, just seal them up with sound deadener and silicone then make a baffle or buy one and put it on, was really easy. i have a 500/1 for them, and im going to use a 300/2 for the germs. and yes bamaboy the 8w3's are actually pretty loud, i had a 12 W6v2 in there, and the 3 8's are just a little bit louder, Granted both are sealed boxes.

Edit: Also if you want to you could cut the metal seperating the 2 compartments and add 4 8's, would be tight with the air space.

As a Tundra owner i say no rear speakers. i can't remember the last time mine were hooked up. I rarely have a passenger back there (access cab), but the few times i have they've never complained.
