Message: <blockquote data-quote="helix66" data-source="post: 2758697" data-attributes="member: 573952">JimJ, I was thinking it might be something like that, but there is a set of rca leads running  out of the hu to the amp which would make sense for tri-mode.  What I find odd is that the rear speaker wires from the hu  are also connected to what looks like some old/OEM-junky wire.  Not sure what they are all about.Ideally I should re do the whole system, but I just don't have the money to get better gear, and the sq seemed ok for me.  I've never heard a really amazing system though.To get some rear fill in my suv I bought two pairs of polk 5.25" components and used an old sony 4 channel amp to run the 4 additional pairs....I used the rear rca leads of hu.I'm wondering if that caused any problems.....using the rear hu speaker outputs AND the rear rca outputs.</blockquote>
