Ethanol is a bust when using corn, sugar cane supposedly has 7 times more ethanol production. Thus, more efficient. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol_fuel_in_Brazil >>look under the Comparison with the United States section I believe someone in Alabama found that the kudzu vine produces ethanol. It grows a foot a day. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/06/16/kudzu-biofuel-ethanol.html Hell, gasoline sucks the efficiency out of the world. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/***/atv.shtml But if you ask me, none of the above is efficient enough from production to the road. Now, EV's are. If you have a power plant that is environmentally friendly such as wind power, geothermal, solar, nuclear if taken seriously. (not coal, not oil) As demand for EV's goes up, the price of the technology of the batteries made in EV's go down. Thus, the EV prices go down. Economics. Gasoline became so expensive for everyone, except some... it crushed the world economy. Now, buying more electronics obviously helps battery technology advance and improve. Electric is obviously more efficient that gasoline. Once the batteries are charged, the vehicle can be around 90% efficient or higher. If you were to create your own power supply with a small solar panel at your house, you could use that power for charging this vehicle. Why don't people think this technology is a good idea? That is a matter of opinion.
