[QUOTE="Hybrid90accord, post: 1724644, member: 559019"] well I just hooked up a old school 800a2 to my brothers L7 12inch to my deh p860mp with the gains half way and pop goes the 60amp fuse. so I turn the gain all the way down and replace the fuses. my brother had the 800a2 in his car running off a deh p8600mp and the gain setting was at half way so I used that as a measuring mark. well with the gain all the way down on the bass on the headunit at negative 24 and we worked our way down negative 10 we get some smoke and a fried L7. The output before the reaching negative 10 way no were as loud as it was in my brothers car and it doesn't make much sense. any input would be nice. I use to have the deh p8600mp in my car before I sold it to my brother for the deh p860mp and honestly I don't like having and headroom with the 860mp I mean ever amp I have put in the car I've had to turn the gain to **** near 0 and can't crank it up loud even to half way for it sound maxed out with makes adjusting my 4 channel running in pro mode a headache to tune. should I down grade to a deh 880 with only 5 volt preout compared to 6.5?
