Hi, i used a DMM and set my amp built-in xover off and got the voltage reading i want etc....i used a 1Khz test tone for my speakers. After i set the gains, i turned on the xover and set it by ear and retested using the test tone, and the voltage went up, so i dont know y most people say t turn off xovers when setting voltage gain. When using the oscope i must also use test tone cd right?? but after i set the gain with the xover off, i must recheck with th o-scope to see if i have clipping after turning on and setting the crossover right? so we must care about the voltage that is going out from the amp after setting everything including the amp builtin x-over no? Lastly, lets say i used the oscope and used all of the clean amp signal output that was rated to be 70rms, and the speakers can handle only 40rms, t hey will be damaged? Pioneer says never overpower speaker even with a clean unclipped signal, is it true? thx a lot
