Message: <blockquote data-quote="g0t-milk" data-source="post: 2670627" data-attributes="member: 574071"><p>ok im doing my gains, dont have a dmm. all by ear. the kicker manual says to turn up the gain control until i hear audible distortion, then turn it down a little. well with this amp, the subwoofer doesnt get loud until the external bass boost is turned on. kind of acts like a HU's subwoofer volume control. so if im setting the gain by ear, listening for distortion, should i have the external boost turned up (18db octave) and leave the xover and bass boost on the amp at 0? cuz how am i supposed to hear distortion when the subs arent on. should i take out the external bass boost and set the gain control?</p></blockquote><p></p>
