Last night my friend (actually more like an aquaitence) showed up to my house last night. He said he had got some new "toys". I said ok, lets go listen to them. I asked what brand they was. "Pyle." I start busting out laughing. I told him they were pyles of shit. He told me that they really was pretty good. I told him I had pyles for my first setup and thought they were good too, then I blew them off way lower then rated power, and that they will live up to their name. So he turned it on and let me listen. I asked him where the bass was. He just glared at me. It was just all midbass. Nothing lower then 65hz even hit. That, im sure, had to do with his ported box (He didn't know anything about tuning), and I'm guessing the boxes are tuned to around 60hz. He blamed the crappy freq response on the size of the woofers (10"). I just said whatever. And the sound quality sucked ***. He told me he only paid $35 dollars for both. I said yeah, so what does that tell you about how good they are? Again he just kinda glared at me. Then he told me not everyone wants a huge system like mine. Im just like, yeah, your right. The subs are rated at 600w each (and he is goign by MAX ratings), and he is powering them with a 300 watt amp (again, max ratings). So I told him about RMS. He told me he wants to get a bigger amp too, a Pyramid (lol). So then I said the pyles are proabably 300 RMS, but they wont even take that. He says he wants to get a 1200w (max) amp to power them. I told him not too, that it would blow them. I told him to keep on powering them with what he has and the won't blow as quickly. But i bet he still goes and buys a new amp. Well I know this story is kinda hard to follow, as I'm not very focused on writing it, but I thought it would be fun to share yet another pyle story. I'll update when he blows them.
