Just learned MECA has a Drive-by Shoot Out- Intended to measure SPL outside the vehicle.

You use your own CDs (must be musical tracks). No tones, sweeps etc.(songs for the entire pass. No foul or rude language in lyrics. Windows may be open, T-tops may be removed and Convertible tops may be down.

Help out eveyone in car audio and play your music loud at santioned events. I'm entering these events because I like to play my music for all to hear and it sounds like it could be fun. Keep it legal and don't mess things up for all of us.

hmm....this would be one class where the people w/o damplified cars could really excel

My car, stock 93 Cutlass, holds bass in extremely well. My main problem is just rattle. I'm really surprised at how little of the bass u actually hear outside the car.

same with my car...i need to fix rattles this summer when it warms up so that people outside of my car dont think it sounds like **** because the rattles....mainly if i do that comp...or whatever it is...

Well if they are smart at all they will think "that car must have alot of power cuz it rattles alot"

But, u will get the occasional, "your car *****, it rattle like a pile of sh it"

With the windows down, it helps those who have great sound inside but not outside. Makes your car windows act as a port.

I have seen vehicles with sound dampening material still rattle at some comps. However for this type division its best to sound dampen your vehicle so your music sounds good and people can actual hear what you have and not wonder if your car is going to fall apart.

Remember its based on a 30 second pass. Once your trunk or whatever that rattles passes by you're at the end of the 30 seconds. I however will be sound dampening my entire trunk. I want my sound to pour out as I pass by.

I'm in on the "loudest rattle" event Getting about 200ft of sound deading as soon as it warms up here.

No body can beat me when it comes to the rattle. My subs are like 6 inches away from the hatch of my van. Even with layer of sound dampener you still give head the rattles from like 10 feet away easily. This is with only 340 watts going into 2 mostly sq subs. I plan on getting some ed k in june and I don't don't even wanna know how bad the rattles are going to be.
