Hi, im planning on making a fiberglass enclosure, ~2.4 ft, sealed a 15" FI Q. The situation is that I will be fiberglassing an enclosure into the wheel well in the car. The sub will be facing up and i want it to be flush to the floor or a little below AFTER excursion is taken into account. The FI Q says that its xmas is 27mm. Does that mean that the Q's max excursion is ~ 1.07 inches? I want to make a wooden ring around the sub thats a little taller than the excursion so that when i put the floor over it (which i will cut a circle in and add some kind of metal mesh or something) nothing will hit the sub when i put stuff in the trunk. Will this wooden ring make any kind of difference in sound? If it does would it be better to make a more open design like instead of it going straight up have it curve (i know that im not explaining that right)? i'll try to make a drawing to see if i can give you an idea what i mean i a lil bit
