Well I just bought a POS daily driver civic and it had no stereo at all. What was going to be a cheap CD player and speakers, turned out to be a complete system. I still tried keeping it somewhat cheap (less than $1,000). The only expensive part really was the sub. I used to have a system in my car way back when I was in high school, but didn't really know shit about stereos or cars at the time, so I'm a noob learning all this stereo stuff. So here's what I got... Pioneer DEH-P480MP CD Player 6.5" Infinity Reference speakers (from what I have read on here they kinda ****) Rockford Fosgate P2502 JL Audio 10w6v2 subwoofer (all the parts to build my own sealed box) Rockford Fosgate P3001 (418rms @ 2 ohm, says my birthsheet!) All wiring from knukonceptz.com (4awg amp install kit, 1/0 wire for big 3 upgrade, etc...) Been reading a lot on this site and it has helped quite a bit. Got info on all the good stuff to buy for building a box. Didn't have a clue about the big 3, but I'm glad I found that big thread. The wires on my 89 civic are so tiny lol. Probably going to be getting the biggest battery I can fit (wal-mart or costco brand). I will eventually get a decent set of components to replace my 2-way speakers, but they will do for now. I spent a little more on the JL sub since I have always wanted a w6 (I know there are louder and cheaper subs, so don't give me crap lol). I will probably do a loud system with many subs and gigantic amps next after this setup gets old. I just needed something to listen to back and forth from work since I am commuting now. So thanks again! This site has a lot of useful info. Also found links to other good car stereo sites as well. Pat
