Fi Q - 1ohmDVC vs. 2ohmDVC

Hey guys, I'm looking at 2 15" Fi Qs, but I don't know whether I should spring for the 1ohmDVCs or the 2ohmDVCs.

The amp I'm eyeballing is the AQ 2200D, which puts out 1300wRMS at 2 ohms, and 2200wRMS at 1 ohm... amp is 1 ohm stable.

Now I could wire the 1ohm subs to a total 1 ohm load on the amp, and the 2 ohm subs to a total 2 ohm load on the amp... which would be better? Would the 1 ohms simply play louder?

These subs are rated at 1000W but I plan on getting the BP Power option and these aren't for competition so I won't necessarily be beating the living daylights out of them. Can anyone help me or explain the difference? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Get dual 1's, you can always turn the gain down if you run into problems with that Amp
So a lower load really is a better way to go if your amp can handle it then, right? Because you have more power available but you can always dial it down?

The only thing is I might not need to upgrade my alternator with the 1300W, but for sure with the 2200W... that's a lot of juice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I went with two DVC 1-Ohm with a AQ 2200d, exactly the same setup as yours. I only need the gains just a tad over half to get a good amount if not maybe too much sound from those subwoofers at 23/35 on the volume knob.

No bass boost or anything else and those subwoofers can really tear apart the cab of my truck on heavy bass or hip hop songs while retaining a lot of responsiveness on less-bass demanding songs.

Ok thanks I'm glad you have some first-hand experience I can use... how about your electrical? Is it stock or do you have any upgrades? Thanks
