Sadly, I was telling the truth. There are MANY Law Enforcement Officers who don't know the laws that they are supposed to uphold! I have a weird sun allergy that allows me to have a medical exemption from Louisiana's window tint law. Years ago, I was pulled over for having a fully tinted windshield, and written a ticket for the exact statute that I had an exemption from. The cop argued with me and said that exemption from the statute DID NOT cover a tinted windshield. We went round and round, then I just broke down and said said "Write me the ticket!" All it took was one phone call to the DA and one fax of my exemption form to get the ticket dropped. No court costs, nothing else required. The last time I saw that former officer, he was working for Pop-A-Lock and unlocking a friend's car. Apparently, he had numerous complaints against him for his erroneous interpretation of the laws he was paid to enforce and was terminated as a result of it.
