[QUOTE="ss3079, post: 34061, member: 542009"] I am firmly against any use of steroids. If you want to get big....do it the right way and train and lift weights etc. Drugs do NOT make you a better baseball player...I have guys on the team that I play on that take steroids and now they are so big that they have become the slowest players on the team. Sure a routine fly ball turns out into a gap shot, but it doesnt nessecarily mean that the player has gained any skill by taking steroids....Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds(thanks Rangerman) are two great ball players and I also believe that they dont take drugs....simply because they are talented and I dont think that they are that stupid to take drugs and bugger up their career's. The problem is now, that college athletes are taking drugs because they feel pressured to make the big leagues and think the only way to make it is to be big...I'll tell you right now, if I was picking a team, I would pick players based on skill, not size....simply because size doesnt mean anything...sure you have to be fairly big to swing a bat, but you dont have to look like Hulk Hogan up at the plate striking out or poping up very time because you have no skill...I really hope I dont start any conflict with this but I am just against any use of drugs in sports...an unfair advantage(sort of, only if you have the skills to back it up) and its just an easy way to increase power the lazy way.
