Acceleration makes the front wheels lift and takes away traction from those tires, making them spin easier. I think its just a lie that the FWD crowd started to help make them feel superior over the RWD crowd, just like many think that their stock Civic would lose off the line to a V8 car but come 80-100 MPH the Civic will slingshot ahead since they've got "m4D VTEC t0P enD y0" <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite7" alt=":p" title="Stick out tongue :p" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":p" /> Just one of them things, best thing to do in cases like that is just to not say anything. Its hard not to say anything because they dont want to believe you, so nothing you say will be right even if you're reading from a physics book written by Newton himself. To them FWD is better hands down, no questions asked. Same goes for any number of things in the car world. People want to think what they have is the best and wont hear anything else. It would be so much better if some people actually took the time to realize no car is perfect or better than another car overall, just a certain things. But just like the sub everyone has has to be the best, so does their car and everything else they have. In the past year or two I've found it very interesting to watch how people react when questioned about what they have, because what they have is always the best, and whatever new they get becomes the best even if it was worse than what they used to have. [QUOTE="josh99ta, post: 384770, member: 545886"] Because during acceleration the weight transfers from the front of the car to the back, putting more weight on the back tires, which pushes down on the drive wheels if your RWD and helps aid traction. I'm not really sure where the FWD crowd came up with FWD being better for traction since that defies physics completely. Acceleration makes the front wheels lift and takes away traction from those tires, making them spin easier. I think its just a lie that the FWD crowd started to help make them feel superior over the RWD crowd, just like many think that their stock Civic would lose off the line to a V8 car but come 80-100 MPH the Civic will slingshot ahead since they've got "m4D VTEC t0P enD y0" :p Just one of them things, best thing to do in cases like that is just to not say anything. Its hard not to say anything because they dont want to believe you, so nothing you say will be right even if you're reading from a physics book written by Newton himself. To them FWD is better hands down, no questions asked. Same goes for any number of things in the car world. People want to think what they have is the best and wont hear anything else.
