Yup, Josh is right again. There are non turbo skylines. There area also RWD skylines, 4 door skylines, pickup(yes, a truck shaped) skylines. It is perhaps one of the most modded jap car in the world, straight from factory. AWD handle better? Pfffft, AWD, in track racing, is a handicap!! I can show you a clip of a R34 GTR V-spec get ripped a new one by two mildly tuned '83 corolla AE86. AWD vs RWD, there just isn't much to say. The only times that I think a 4WD is called for : Rally, emergency maneuvers and short slalom events (albeit lots and lots of front tire wear, sometimes up to the metal belt) Give a profession race driver a choice between a AWD and RWD, he'll look at you funny. Also, someone asked if anyone's car has better roadholding than 0.9G's.. i do, my ol' superkart.. lol~ Also, I've been a reader of Car & Driver/ Road & track since '91. Their lap times, acceleration tests have been proven to be VERY reliable by many many authorities worldwide. I wouldn't exactly ignore them.. Ok, just one more... dbhittin, the reason why a skyline driver would win a cobra is prolly cause of driver. The skyline does give a very high sense of security to most drivers, whilst the thought of a nasty tailwhip from a powerful RWD scares untrained drivers. However, going downhill, do believe the comics and cartoons, drift the buggers downhill... racing line just doesn't apply anymore. Just my 2 cents, from a retired avid track racer.
