[QUOTE="galacticmonkey, post: 3263874, member: 570857"] Ive always wondered the same. Everyone always also talks about "Its all in the install", which has the meaning that the performance of the audio system depends mostly on the way it is installed and setup, rather than the equipment. If people really followed this, they would know that pro audio speakers can sound good and work great if you set it up right. Cross them over correctly, send them a clean signal, install them correctly, pair them correctly, and you will be just fine. Another thing that confuses me why the "PA IS BAD! OMGWTF!" is always used is theres no difference. Its a magnet, a cone, a spider, some tinsels, etc. A speaker is a speaker. I heard a couple EV setups this weekend at a local show. There was a Caddy that sounded pretty good, and a black Diamante that sounded GREAT. Even people who always hated on pro audio speakers couldnt deny that it sounded great. They were both super loud too. There is B&C also, which sounds pretty good and is ungodly loud. And yes, the idea of having a super loud pro audio setup is so that everyone hears it. Not driving through a neigborhood late at night, but when you're at a big show and everyone is blasting there system, you gotta having something to 1up them. Ill put some pics at the bottom of my post. Personally, I have Eminence Alpha 6s in my car and Eminence APT-80 tweeters. They sound great and they get pretty loud for about 15rms a speaker. Heres a video of my car. The Caddy and Diamante are at the bottom. Basically, if you want something thats really loud and sounds pretty good, go with some nice PA speakers. If you just want something with PERFECT sq and PERFECT imaging, and care only about that, PA is not for you. EV setup that sounded amazing.
