My application method was washing down the area with mineral spirits, and then applying the deadener with a heat gun and just some pressure from my hands.I really would not use any type of mat deadener without using a heat gun. Rollers are overrated and wont conform to curves and uneven surfaces. At least not as well as a heat gun with a very little bit of elbow grease.</blockquote>
