Alright, my Eclipse CD 8051 kinda took a crap. It still functions in Aux mode and in tuner mode. But my antenna is broken so the tuner is worthless until I get a trunk without a spoiler to snap off antennas. Anyway, I popped my CD out and the face flipped down out of the way, but wouldn't flip back up. I've been messing with it and I can shut the face manually, but the CD won't play if you do that, it just tries to eject because it thinks it's still open. Fortunately I have this CD player setup as the sound processor for a DVD player so I can still listen to CDs but this is a major annoyance. Does anyone know if there's a way to get this headunit to shut? Maybe someone who knows about Eclipse units or who has a similar unit? I think the CD 8052 is almost identical if someone has one and can see what it does to shut that'd be a great help. I'd rather not have to replace the stereo, it worked awesome up until this. If it turns out to be unrepairable, I'll want to replace it, most likely with another Eclipse unit. I don't need an internal amplifier, I run external amplifiers. I also have a DQS equalizer so the EQ features on the headunit aren't important to me. Just six high-voltage RCA outputs, time alignment is the only feature I'd add. Any recommendations?
