The signal you get from an Eclipse is very clean. I have both sets of my Eclipse coaxials running off of my HU (which is a 5441, last year model of the 5442) and they are very clear and loud. Now if you want to run an amp go ahead, but you don't have to. get the HU first and listen to the sound. Then decide if you want an amp or not.</p></blockquote><p></p>
