Eclipse cone rattling

Hey everybody-new member here, looks like a good site.

Anyway, I have 2 lower model Eclipse subs and on one of them the cone is rattling. It has the composite cone. When I hold my finger on the cone it will stop rattling. Its not real bad, I can old hear it at about 1/4 volume. Does anyone know of a way to stop this? Its out of warranty by a few months so I cant take it back.

I hav ethe eclipse aluminum cone and on my sub the magnet screws started to become loose and I heard some awefull rattling. I took the sub out, took it to my freinds shop and being an eclipse retailer he quickly pointed out the problem.

If you basket is removable then this is most lilley your problem.

Another good bet is that your dustcap is loose. Try to apply a slight bit of pressure to the dust cap as music is playing and see if the rattling gets better or worse.

Get some plastic epoxy from autozone.

1. Put a screwdriver gently where the dust cap has already begun to detach

2. Get a blowdrier or heat gun to heat up the glue holding the existing cap on.

3. Very softyl pry the the dust cap off.

4. Cover the portion of the dust cap that makes contact with the cone in epoxy after it has been properly mixed.

5. Put the dust cap back on and apply pressure for around 5 minutes without moving the dust cap around a whole lot.

umm the cone and the dustcap are 2 completely different things. make sure you know what you are talking about before you get glue happy!
