Eclipse 87121's seem quiet

Just got a decent deal on a pair of Eclipse 87121DVC's (previous subs were JL12w3's) for my crew cab truck. They seem really quiet to me. My Xtant 121's should be pushing 250 RMS to each of them, and even with the sub control all the way up on my Alpine 9815, they still barely rattle the mirror. I know the box may be on the small side of what is ideal(~.75 ft^3) , but it's stuffed with poly-fill, and I don't want to give up the back seat to build something different.

Any suggestions would be appreciated-- More power? Something I'm missing on the HU? Just crank the gains? If the subs say they can handle 300 rms, is an extra 50 watts over what I have going to make them pound that much more?

This is really starting to frustrate me- my bud's Ford Explorer with a Single Pioneer 10" and a cheap Sony amp is just as loud or louder than my high-end stuff.

I'm taking any suggestions on what to try next!!! I'm quite disappointed with this setup.

maybe you have the voice coils wired for the wrong ohm loads... maybe your amp's ground isnt really a ground

Check ur wiring of the Ohm load. Make sure ur RCA's are in good. make sure there is nothing on ur HU stopping the bass from bumpin.

What are ur gains set at , and whats ur crossover set at.

those are good subs i used to have some of the 15s and they got really loud. 250 watts a sub should be fine ( i had 4 15s on a memphis 1000 which is 1100@1ohm so mine were getting about 275 watts each and they were ported and they slammed) i could only say check the wiring the box should be fine because eclipse is a small box woofer.

Voice Coils are wired up to run 2ohms. +to+ and -to-. I pulled the covers off the 121m's and adjusted the jumpers on the LFQ 45's ( a bass boost chip centered at 45 hertz) to a +10 DB. I also disabled the X-over on the amp, as I don't remember the specs on that, and now running the HU's X-over for the subs at 63- 12 DB/octave. Dial-adjust gains on the amps are set about half-way. Sounds a little better- but still isn't very loud!
