So i noticed today while i undertook a new box build that the audio shop replaced my two merlon MEWO-M112D'S with two merlon MEWO-M12S. (They were replaced under warranty) they are the same size and put out 400RMS on each sub and have similar specs on all but the following: One (M112D) is a dual voice coil while the other (M12s) is a single, and one outputs 1200watts peak (M112D) while the other puts out 800watts peak (M12s). Ive noticed its a little more quite with the new pair, but i also turned the gain down on the amp a little. My question is: Does the difference in the max watts and voice coil make a noticeable difference in overall volume if they have the same RMS and similar specs? thank you
