[QUOTE="inferno1985, post: 8484083, member: 639224"] based on lets say 2000 watt amp. would some amps rated at 2000 watts eat up more voltage to produce power then others? a buddy of mine bought a storage unit and had a few amps in them looking barely or never used. might have been a old store that closed. anyways he has 2 sundown 12's not sure which ones. we tested a few amps in his ride. hifonics hfi 3000 d hifonics brutus 2400 i believe boss armor amp if thats right not sure on the wattage maybe 2500 cadence amp rockford. based on all the amps we tested to see which made his system sound better than his current amp which was ssl one we noticed extreme differneces in voltage drops the hfi line amp was the worst i think dropping to 11.5 volts not every amp was around the same voltages while playing. they fluctuated between 11.5 volts and 12.4 volts on full tilt. i believe most of the amp at least put out or around 2000 watts if not a little bit less. so do other amps eat up more power than others? based on what we seen?
