Most of the gain you hear right now is from the vehicle. SO, you explained it fine, and I am telling you like I did in the last post.........this sub likes ported better, which will give you (if designed right) the bass you are talking about. The "carrying" part is not from the design, but the output needs to be intense for it to carry like you are talking about. The "carrying" is from resonances over time.which is more vehicle related.
