Electrical system consisted of two optimas in the back with a redtop upfront, stock alt, and 1/0 throughout vehicle. Gain was set a LITTLE UNDER A FOURTH. I had no need to turn the gain any higher as it was plenty loud. I had no intention on touching the bass boost or even raising the bass level from the headunit. To make a long story short, I swapped my zx2500 with a xxv colossus, swapped subs to 08 models (2ohm) so I can acheive a 1 ohm load on each channel, swapped both optimas for a single powermaster d3100 (largest battery powermaster makes), swapped jvc avx33 with alpine x100, and I noticed a huge decrease in output. I had to turn the gain all the way up to 95% in order to hear half of the output I got with my previous setup. At this point, I am very dissapointed with the overall setup. All connections are tight and secure. The battery swapping would make minimal difference in the output as described above, so I don't think the battery made the difference in output. As for the amp, its wired to 1ohm on each channel, essentially giving each sub 1600(not factoring in many variables such as impedence rise, voltage drops, resistance, etc.). My only other option is the head unit. I know these alpines are terrible in terms of voltage preout, but I've used other alpines ( 9856,9885,9855) which all have 2v preout and I've never had to turn a gain that high to hear audible output. any advice is appreciated. If I have to, I may ditch the HU and look into the pioneer 9800. [QUOTE="Ali1, post: 4513114, member: 567924"] Okay, as you guys may know about my previous setup, it was far more louder than this new setup I have. my previous setup was a pair of 15" L7s (2ohm) on a zx2500 @ 2ohms.
