I just recently picked up a pair of dc xl m2 15s cheap. I'm going to rebuild them and am buying the 10" landing machined DC frames. That being said, what are the physical differences between the models? I can take an educated guess, looking over all the specs and information available. I'm aware that the elite coil/soft parts in the m2 motor will have the risk of mechanically bottoming out because of the increase in xmax provided by the new platform. I would like to hear from some subwoofer builders or people with first hand knowledge with these subwoofer platforms. I will most likely have a custom kit made up. Anyone running this same upgraded setup? Is it possible without custom work?
