I rolled up to my local Best Buy one afternoon to get a stack of CD-Rs. One of their 'installers' that was taking a smoke break out front asked me what kinda speakers I had as I walked past. I told him and he kinda rolled his eyes and muttered in a tone I will assume he thought to be inaudible something to the effect of "...pawn shop garbage..." I was unaware of DATs existence till a couple of years ago after running across an old friend at a gas station who happens to work for the only DAT retailer within a couple hundred miles. I dunno anything about wanting to be "different" but after giving the Diamonds a listen I became an instant fan. I bought the sub new retail and had them install it so it'd be warrantied for three years (a huuuge fan of long warranties am I) and then sourced some outstanding deals on some used components (less than $300 total for both sets including shipping) Being sourced off of all eXcelon gear it seems to sound pretty good to me. Diamond has made me a believer personally and my own taste alone would make me suggest going with the Diamond gear over the Fosgate stuff. The lower total investment by close to $500 and a considerably longer warranty, to me, would clinch the deal.
