Well, I received my pair of Diamond Audio D310D4 (dual 4ohm voice coils) to replace my Infinity 1242.
The Infinity was housed in a 2^ft slot vent tuned at 30hz and powered by an MTX 6500D.
I built the box for the Diamonds sealed to Diamond Audio specs at .75^ft each.
The MTX 6500D is rated as follows @ 12.5v:
250w x1 @ 4ohms
500w x1 @ 2ohms
Now, I am feeding only 250w (wired 4ohms) to both Diamonds which are RMS rated at 400w //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif I know I am starving the Subs for power, and have a simple question in hopes to avoid bumping up in Amp size.
Would the following config not be a 2 ohm load on the Amp?
Running each woofer's voice coils parallel, then each woofer in series.
If this is not Kosher, why not? Be easy on the noob.... just trying to figure what's next. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
