Alright, so I recently bought myself a truck (1991 Chevy S10) and I want to start thinking about a sound system for it. I don't really know what you need to know, so I'm just kind of posting everything I think might be useful. First off, I listen to metal, so I need everything to be able to keep up with the speed of it. Sound quality is quite important to me, as I don't want to JUST hear the bass, and I want to enjoy listening to it, but being loud is also fairly important (what's the point of having one if you can't piss people off?). I was thinking a pair of 10" subs would be perfect for this, housed in probably a sealed box. Then have a component set in each door, and possibly some more tweeters/mids somewhere else if necessary? On to the questions. The Sub Box Planning on building this with the help of my friend, who is very talented when it comes to woodwork. I know to make it out of 3/4" MDF. But when it comes to designing this box, I get a little stuck. In the back I have a MAXIMUM width of 42", and 21" from the back of the cab to the back of the seats. I'd like just a 'standard' box I suppose. Just a box with a slanted front face on it. I don't really know how much volume the box needs, so recommended dimensions would be appreciated. The Rest As for everything else, this is where I get even more confused. I have been recommended 2 amps (sub and speaker) and unless anybody has any major objections, I think I'm going with them. For the head-unit, it's not overly important so I'll probably just look around locally and find something I like. For the subs and components I have absolutely no idea, so all suggestions are welcome. If there is anything missing feel free to let me know. Subs Was thinking THIS or THIS, any objections/other suggestions? Any objections/other suggestions? Head Unit Buying locally, haven't picked one yet.
