(3) 16 volt batteries to equal (2) 14 volt group 31's.16 volt batteries dont have the capacity that a group 31 carries. Switching to 16 volts is a trade off of more power but it takes more batteries to get the job done. It is expensive to do it correctly, I suggest keeping a 16 volt charger in the car and recharge between rounds until you can get a dual alt setup or a regulator and a step down module.</blockquote>
