So that's not lifting the car up? I guess it's lowering the ground, then? Do you also lower the ground when you replace the exhaust, or swap out the transmission? I find a lift to be much easier for working under a car. I asked specifically if YOU (the Michael ThxOne) had a bad AFM. YOU (I presume the Michael ThxOne) answered: That would mean that the AFM on your car was not an AFM, since you had the mystical "speed density" 280ZX. A blow off valve dumps the boost when you let off the gas, so th back pressure wave doesn't **** up your turbo or other parts of the intake system. When auto transmissions on turbo cars started failing to shift, people would back out of the throttle rapidly to force the shift. Do it enough, and the pressure wave snaps the shaft connecting the wheels in the turbo. Do it under a car running high boost, and it happens that much faster. The blowoff valve does not increase boost. A boost controller does. Then why did you? Did you have a bad bulb, or maybe the lens in your light fell out? So you installed a blowoff valve to prevent damage to your turbo and intake system when you let off the gas. Shiny and exciting! Has nothing to do with making more boost. Maybe you just thought you sounded like a racer when it made the noise? And I like your red strut tower. Did you paint the engine comaprtment to make it look more racy? You mean how it works? It's a modulated valve that bleeds off air to atmosphere. It works in a closed loop, measuring boost and opening/closing to maintina the desired final boost pressure. The pressure is set by the user. Manually. An early control unit and valve: Where did your hokey valve bleed off to atmosphere? I don't see the port. Then why were you saying you put it on to increase your boost from 6 to 9 psi on your stock vehicle, then later changed to saying you did a boost controller and the blowoff to increase the boost? No "balls deep" wrench who talks about "carbon tracks" on a "speed density car" would say he put on a blowoff to increase boost. You're all over the map with your mistakes, and it's making it hard to believe you ever owned a 1982 280ZX. Do you remember any characters of the VIN?
