Message: <blockquote data-quote="Old_Slapper" data-source="post: 8888128" data-attributes="member: 690458">A close buddy of mine, who is an illegal, had a baby who was in the hospital for over a month.  The baby was sent home with a prescription for name brand meds, diapers, formula, and bottles.  That means, they didn't have to pay for any of those things for over a year.  We, the taxpayers and medical insurance payers, got to pay for it all.  He told me how the system works, and he and his wife have it made pretty good.  He works and gets paid "under the table."  the gov'ment pays for their home, food, utilities, and other essentials.  Anyhow, these extra medical costs are also huge reason for our insurance going up.  I also add the cost of meds, hospital fees, and their overhead costs.</blockquote>
