Hmmm, consumers sure ARE importers. If I buy a $1,000 stereo from China and have it shipped here for personal use, I'm paying a tariff on that stereo. If I'm buying it to resell, I'm making the tariff plus the shipping costs part of my COGS and passing it to the buyer. I don't import and sell out of the goodness of my heart. "Bait" you? No, simply pointing out your hypocrisy. You're violating site rules. Pretty hypocritical for someone who accused me of violating site rules, when I didn't do so. Nah; I'm not a special snowflake, like some people here. Ahhhh, so you are saying they COULD be, but actually were NOT. Which means the numbers are accurate, and the Democrats have done it better since 1947. I'm glad we agree. I have full control. Read your posts since I have returned, and take a count of how many times you have lashed out with ad hominem, while I simply use facts and evidence to argue. Control your emotions, and argue with facts and evidence, instead of beliefs/opinions/"feelings". And? Does it change the analogy in any way? You used the phraseology of "go suuck diicks" DOZENS of times, maybe MULTIPLE dozens of times. Why didn't you create something new every time? Oh yeah, your rules for others do not apply to your own behavior. I import an $888 carbon fiber bike for personal use. Who pays the tariff on the goods for me? WalMart keystones their costs on a bike. They pay $100 for a Mongoose and sell it for $200. $100 profit. Another $25 gets added in tariff fees, so it's now $125. You think they are keeping the retail price at $200? Keep dreaming. They're either passing on the costs to keep their GPM at 50%, or sourcing a lower-quality and lower priced bike to keep the price point and GPM. Kind of like how Oreos get smaller and have 20% less filling, in order to keep the same price and the same profit margin. No business is giving away profit out of the goodness of their heart. That's how they go out of business. Prices of GOODS go up and down all the time. A tax or tariff is not the price of a good. It's an add-on to get money from us that goes directly to our government.
