Message: <blockquote data-quote="Old_Slapper" data-source="post: 8874931" data-attributes="member: 690458">You both are right.I live in an area where farming is what runs the City.  A farmer went to all the colleges within 50 miles.  He posted help wanted adds for field workers.  He offered them $1.00 over minimum wage to work in his fields.  He didn't get a single applicant from those colleges.  However, he received an overwhelming amount of applications from he Hispanics community.  some were illegals and some were citizens.  He hired the citizens.  Also, Tyson, along with a few other manufacturing plants, did layoff a large amount of their staff to hire the illegals.  With illegals, they don't have to pay all the same taxes and benefits.  In order to legal lay the people off, they had to reclassify all the positions.</blockquote>
