In most cases, if you can't change lanes, you have to slow significantly.A lot of officers are killed or injured every year by drivers who are preoccupied and just drift over and strike the officer. And yes, I knew one who was killed that way.The judge won't accept a plea of ignorance of the law. That could be a very expensive ticket, and it'll go on your record if they find against you.
