I'm gona gafta do a double on the Toyota. Tacoma with Trd, extended cab, 5spd, and off-road package is basically my dream mid-size truck right now. If you can afford it, it would be a shame to pass up. Nothing wrong with the chevy, I just think in the long run your going to be MUCH happier with the Toyota. The v-6's are pretty quick. Prolly run right along side, if not beat the 1500. As I meantioned earlier, as far as off-road capability goes, the Toyota will absolutely slaughter that Chevy. I have a buddy with a 06' 1500, extended cab, off road, all options. Super nice $36k truck, but does'nt hold a candle to my cousin's Toyota when it comes to off-roading. The resale value is through the roof compared to the chevy, not to mention you'll prolly be able to run it to 200k+ if you take care of it. I've never seen a newer 1500 used for work thats made it past 150k and still ran good with no issues. Honestly, the ONLY thing I can see the Chevy having over the Toyota is payload, which unless you pull stumps on a daily basis, your probably not going to miss.
